About Me

I am Kimberly Sterlekar, your Principal and I am humbled and honored to be serving the students, staff, families, and stakeholders of Flex High School.

With 19 years of experience, I have served as a teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal. I also have extensive experience around curriculum work. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. I was selected to participate in the Cleveland State University First Ring Leadership Academy where we were fortunate to learn from community and educational leaders from around the country.

My husband David and I have two high school aged children and support our local community and school system. Our children are deeply rooted in soccer, and we support their efforts every weekend! I am community minded as I serve the Twinsburg AC Soccer program as a member of their board. Our family loves to travel and socialize with family and friends.

My focus is on student achievement where educating a child provides academic opportunities while setting clear learning targets for the growth and development of all children. An active classroom atmosphere where students are participants in their learning experiences and where there is active teaching and learning are imperative to embracing the learning experience. Developing practice, purpose and perseverance to motivate a child to achieve their highest academic abilities is the cornerstone of my educational philosophy.

Social and professional relationships are important and developed with our young adults to provide encouragement in the classroom while developing the whole child. I believe in growing students’ abilities outside of the academic realm to assist in the growth of their social and self-awareness, decision making and relationship building skills.

I look forward to working with and serving the families and stakeholders in the community and the students at Flex High School Cleveland.
