School Board

Craig Cobb is a native Clevelander and graduate of Miami University (Ohio) and Cleveland State Law School. After a 40-year legal career he retired from Farmers Insurance where he was the managing attorney for its Cleveland legal office. His legal career includes service as a Municipal Court Judge and Assistant Law Director for the City of Cleveland. Since 2019 he has been a member of City Council in Cleveland Heights where he resides with his wife Ruth Maguire.
Craig has always been proactive in community service and as the son of an educator feels privileged to serve on the Board of Flex High School where he has been a member since the schools founding in 2020.

Mr. Hoyas is the Chief Executive Officer at The Hoyas Insurance Group in Cleveland, Ohio. An Insurance Brokerage Firm specializing in Commercial Business, as well as with Life, Property and Casualty products.

He has also expanded his professional background with Real Estate and Construction businesses over the past 15 years, while leading GAHA Holdings, Inc a Property Management firm and Alto FSI, Ltd, an Insulation and Firestopping Company specializing in the field of Healthcare and Industrial Construction. Mr. Hoyas began his career in 1992 at The Allstate Insurance Company as a Computer Operations Manager Trainee and over the years advanced through the Allstate corporate ranks to be the State Territory Manager for the State of Michigan, where he ranked in the top 10% for sales performance.

In 2003, he moved back to Columbus, Ohio to become the Regional Sales / Operations Consultant for Nationwide Insurance Company. He advanced through two fast-track promotions over the next five years, ultimately leading to becoming the State Sales Director for Ohio and West Virginia. During those five years, he propelled revenue 1,000% while more than doubling his team size.

In 2008, Mr. Hoyas decided to leave his high six figure corporate salary to become an entrepreneur. He purchased a small insurance Agency in Twinsburg, Ohio, in which he grew the Agency from $1.2 Million to $8 Million in Revenue over a 10-year period. Key contributions included forming a team that drove 150% revenue growth and breaking the Agency down into specialized areas of both sales and service.

Hoyas has held a variety of leadership roles throughout his career and has sat on various advisory boards and forums. He earned his bachelor’s in political science / Spanish with a Minor in Foreign Affairs and Biology from John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. He also holds several insurance licenses, designations, certifications and awards.
